Cammy and the Bachelor

Strikes on the banks of London by two unknown fighters lead to Burke and his team moving in to stop them, but after being captured by Bison, they have to be saved by Guile and Cammy... but Bison has a much bigger plan for Cammy and this episode probably has the biggest plot twist in the whole series.

It's a fine morning in England and several security guards pack money into a armoured van, which then sets off. However, Sodom suddenly appears in front of the van. The driver attempts to reverse and turn away to make an escape, but Sodom jumps forward and uses one of his sais to cut through the bottom left of the van, destroying two of it's tires The van ends up crashing into a lamppost and is forced to stop.

The guards jump out and prepare to defend the money, but Birdie appears and promptly beats them all up. Their first raid a success, Birdie gets the money and tells Sodom that this is just the beginning, and with that the two start more raids across London, destroying various placements whilst taking off with any money or treasures they can get their hands on.

In response to this crime wave that Sodom and Birdie are causing, Scotland yard gives a press conference and the three top agents - Burke, Rory and Celia - have been given the job of finding and catching the criminals to bring them to justice. This is being watched by Birdie, Sodom and Bison, and Bison starts his master plan by tipping off Scotland Yard.

Later on that day Sodom and Birdie have managed to steal the crown jewels, and after Birdie does some hilarity (Sodom laughed at least) Burke and co show up. After a very brief fight, Rory uses his cybernetics to tie the two criminals up.

However Bison suddenly floats down and uses his power to untie the two, and then gets the rope to smack into Burke which knocks him out. Celia tries to fight Bison but is grabbed by Sodom. Rory tries to shoot Bison, but Bison uses his powers to stop the bullets in mid-air and send them back the way they came. Rory blocks them, but Bison then uses his magnetic power to simple tear one of Rory's cybernetic arms apart.

The next day Cammy and Guile are summoned to their HQ where Escher informs them that Cammy's ex-team mates have all been captured by Bison, and he wants £2,000,000,000 for them, which is a rather hefty sum. Guile suggests it is a ludicrous amount for three people, but Escher then says that Burke recently found out information which could topple the British government and that if Bison somehow extracted that from him it would be worse than not have paying the ransom money. Cammy and Guile go via truck to Bison's co-ordinates, but as soon as they give him the money Bison pulls out a gun and says they are his prisoners too.

Guile leaps out of the van and kicks Bison in the chest, making him drop the gun. Celia manages to get it and uses it to shoot the bars, letting her and the rest of the team escape. A fight starts, and Sodom and Birdie are quickly defeated, but Bison activates a shield around him which the other Street Fighters cannot break through.

Rory charges at Bison saying that he has reconfigured his cybernetic arms to be on the same level as Bison's shield. After colliding with Bison his shield breaks and Bison gets pinned to the floor, only for Rory to lift him up and then punch him. Bison is surrounded and the Street Fighters are confident that Bison cannot escape them this time.

Bison says that he hasn't lost yet as he hasn't used his secret weapon. He calls to Cammy who turns around and as Bison's eyes turn red Cammy falls to the floor screaming.

Cammy then gets up and does her cannon drill move on Guile which sends him flying into Rory and Burke. Guile gets up and tells Cammy that Bison has warped her mind, but Bison says that Cammy has always been working for him. The bad guys get into the truck and Celia attempts to shoot them, but Bison uses his power to make her miss and instead shoot the roof which then caves in as Bison and the other bad guys make a get away complete with the ransom money.

Everyone inside the building has survived and the only option they have is to report back to HQ. Escher tells Guile that he can either try and cure Cammy, but otherwise she should now be treated as a terrorist and due to the knowledge she has, would have to be terminated. At Scotland Yard, Burke attempts to read Cammy's file but it is blocked out and he can't access it. So E.Honda has a go (he and Chun-Li have suddenly appeared by the way) and manages to get through to her files. However almost as soon as he does the file deletes itself, and none of them know who did it and why.

As this is going on Celia has followed a lead and is waiting in a pub with Rory. Birdie is said to often visit here and sure enough, he is. Celia quickly moves in and forces Birdie to tell her where Bison and Cammy are going. She then later gives this information to Guile who gets the whole team together and preps them before they move in.

As Sodom loads the ransom money into a hover jet thing, he asks if they should wait for Birdie but Bison says he knows when they are leaving and if he is late then it's his loss. Just at that time the Street Fighters arrive and quickly surround Bison, Cammy and Sodom, but instead of fighting the bad guys run into their ship which blasts off before any of the Street Fighters can get on.

Burke and Chun-Li fire projectiles at the ship but they don't do any damage to it. Rory then has the bright idea of firing his grappling hook at the bottom of the ship and manages to latch on, but as the ship rises he is pulled upward. Honda runs across to a pylon and does his Hundred Hand Slap on it, causing it to fall. Rory grabs onto it as it does and Bison's ship goes out of control.

The ship violently crashes into a building and explodes. The Street Fighters run in and inspect the wreckage, but Guile sees Bison and Cammy making a getaway. Guile orders the rest of the team to put out the fire as he goes after them. Rory smacks the ground so hard it cracks and he grabs a drainage pipe, ripping it up to put out the fire with the help of the rest of the team.

Bison and Cammy want to escape via a speedboat but Guile has caught up with them and challenges Bison to a fight. However, the airship crash has badly injured Bison who can not even stand with out support. Cammy gets ready to fight Guile instead but Guile cannot hurt his former team member. Cammy uses this to her advantage and knocks Guile out of the way.

Cammy and Bison get onto the speedboat and make their escape, with Cammy swearing that Guile and the rest of the Street Fighters will "pay for hurting the man I love", her words exactly. Guile can't believe what she's just said and the rest of the team show up. Guile vows that he will not rest until Cammy is freed from Bison's influence.

Pretty gnarly stuff for the second episode of season 2 huh? Probably a good example of how this season is much less light-hearted than the previous one. The whole story of Cammy's turn to Bison's side was most likely made from Cammy's Super Street Fighter II ending, which was screwed up by Capcom USA. In the game, Bison tells Cammy that she used to love him (in the Japanese version, he tells her that she would kill for him) so they must have taken it from there. Of course, later on in the Street Fighter games (Street Fighter Alpha 3 to be exact) Cammy IS under Bison's influence.

The data file on Cammy which Honda brings up looks like this:

In the games, Cammy has a last name, it's "White". Most of the other data there is correct to the games (such as her birth date and blood type) although her bio in the games indicates that her height is 164 cm, not 170cm. Not sure about the other stuff there as it's in different measurement that I can't bother to convert.

Sodom doesn't get out of the wreckage when the hoverjet crashes. Does that mean he died? Apparently not, as he later shows up in "Final Fight".

Sodom is also armed in this episode with his sais, which he never has in any other episode. Although they look different to the game version.

Also, Sodom actually gets a line in this episode! He says "What about Birdie... he's not back yet" to Bison just before Guile and the others show up and try to stop them from taking off in the hoverjet. He still grunts a lot in this episode otherwise though, like in all other episodes he's in.

Keeping it with Sodom, the animators got his face correct this episode, making him have a proper complete mask. Compare his appearance here to his appearance in "The Medium is the Message" and you'll see what I mean. There's still a few cock-ups though as in some shots, Sodom is wearing the incomplete mask.
