The Emperor of Destruction Vanishes on an Iceberg

The Autobot Headmasters are checking out the status of their bases throughout the world and things are not looking good - several of their bases were recently attacked all at the same time with complete destruction of the outposts. Fortress believes that it isn't Galvatron who is leading the raids, and the others think that Scorponok might be behind it and acting on his own, since the Autobots haven't seen him for a while. Fortress dispatches Twincast to find out more information.

Metroplex wants to go out and fight as well but Fortress won't allow it, saying that the Autobots cannot afford to lose him. Just then Metroplex receives reports from multiple Autobot bases, which say that they are under attack. The Technobots and Protectobots are scrambled to these different bases whilst the Autobot Headmasters move out to defend another.

At the Decepticon base on Charr, Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge watch as Sixshot destroys a base in his Wingwolf mode. Galvatron praises Sixshot for his skill, although Cyclonus and Scourge say that Galvatron's giving him way too much praise. Meanwhile Counterpunch is in a room with stacks and stacks of energon cubes, and he wonders what Galvatron is going to do with them. As he leaves the room he bumps into Galvatron and asks him what he is going to do next, and Galvatron tells him that he is going to head to Earth and make history with his next battle, and then leaves. Although he didn't get as much information as he would have liked, Counterpunch decides to tell Fortress anyway.

Counterpunch arrives at Autobot City on Earth and transforms into Punch. He tells Fortress and the other Headmasters that Galvatron plans to make history with his next move and is heading to Earth. The Autobots believe that Galvatron may be planning to obliterate the Earth and use all of the energy the Decepticons have collected to power themselves up. But Fortress thinks that the Earth attacks by Sixshot are to try and keep them busy whilst Galvatron or Zarak implement their real plan.

Elsewhere on Earth Steeljaw tells Twincast that he has seen Scorponok at an Autobot base. Steeljaw takes him to it and sure enough, Scorponok is there, with the base in ruins and all of the Autobots there dead. Twincast decides to go and get a closer look but before he can go down there he is attacked by Sixshot and knocked down into the canyon, but Steeljaw escapes unharmed.

At Athenia Spike and the others there can only watch as countless Autobot bases are attacked and destroyed by the Decepticons, and many locations are left in ruin thanks to these raids. Spike decides that they must contact Fortress Maximus on Earth and get him to do something, but Arcee says that the reason that Fortress does not appear to be striking back with the other Autobots is because they are trying to work out what the Decepticon's real objective actually is. Spike agrees and for now decides not to contact Fortress.

Determined to find out what Galvatron's plan is, Counterpunch heads to the Earth Decepticon base and goes inside. He hears a conversation between Galvatron and Sixshot, but he knows he can't just barge in and instead heads into the room next to them and sees them through a ventilation shaft, getting to hear everything they have to say.

Galvatron shows Sixshot what his plan is: he will engulf the Earth and become the quite freaky and stupid looking Grand Galvatron, and rule the universe. He then reveals that his only weak point at the moment is his head, but by becoming this greater being, he'll be invincible. But to do this, he will require key components from other Decepticon warriors, such as Sixshot, and put them into his new body. This understandably worries Sixshot. Meanwhile Counterpunch goes off to inform Fortress of Galvatron's plan, although Galvatron sees him.

Back on Earth the Autobots are about to move out to where Twincast gave his last report, and Metroplex requests that he gets to go too to avenge Ultra Magnus, and Fortress allows it this time. Punch returns and gets onboard Fortress' ship, which then blasts off with Metroplex also flying beside it. Punch tells Fortress about Galvatron's plan, and that now would be a good time to strike against the enemy.

Also on Earth, Scorponok and the other Decepticon Headmasters have been playing bombs in key points of the Earth's structure for their own plan. Sixshot finds them and tells Zarak that he must now be very cautious of Galvatron as he intends to take parts from the most powerful Decepticons, and that means that Scorponok is likely to end up being dismantled. Zarak decides to team up with Sixshot and put Galvatron out of the picture permanently.

Just then Galvatron shows up and tells Zarak to hand over Scorponok, but before anything can happen the Autobots arrive and Chromedome leads the others to attack Galvatron, Metroplex fights Sixshot and Scorponok fights Fortress Maximus. Near to the battle Steeljaw finds and gets Twincast back on his feet.

The Autobot Headmasters push Galvatron back to some icebergs, but he proves to be a bit too much for them to handle and knocks all four of them off a ledge. Galvatron sees that they are all still alive and jumps down to finish them off, but then Counterpunch appears and tells them to attack Galvatron's head, as that is his weak point. Galvatron realises that Counterpunch was a spy but it's a bit late for him now.

With this new information, Chromedome leaps across and drop kicks Galvatron straight in the head, sending him sprawling back and landing in the water. With their opponent knocked down for a second, the Autobots power themselves up with the head formation technique.

Galvatron gets up on another iceberg but is blasted back into the water again, and the Headmasters blast the surrounding icebergs which all fall down onto Galvatron and cover him in ice. Galvatron tells the other Decepticons to help him, but of course they don't want to.

Soon Galvatron is totally covered with ice, and the Autobots then focus their attack on the point where he was buried and shoot at it. A massive explosion then starts, and with no sign of Galvatron the Decepticons believe that their leader has been destroyed, so they flee the scene and head back to Charr.

The Autobots look over the sea of ice, and Fortress and Chromedome discuss how powerful the head formation technique can be. The narrator then finishes this episode off saying that whilst Galvatron has been destroyed, Zarak is still out there and that the Autobots must be prepared to fight him.

So, Galvatron: dead or alive? Whilst this is his last appearance in the series, the title for this episode hints that he might not actually be dead. He is actually frozen in the ice but is bought back as Super Megatron to life in Battlestars: Return of Convoy. Optimus Prime is brought back to life in this series as Star Convoy (Star Prime). It's worth noting however that this series was actually never an animated one, and was told through various magazines and the like.

Grand Galvatron must be the most stupid looking thing I've ever seen. Good job he never got to form into it.
