Crisis! The Autobot Base Explodes
| |
With Overlord now in base mode, Giga and Mega snigger over their total victory and with full knowledge that they will be able to destroy the Autobot base before Ginrai and the other Autobot Godmasters can get here. Giga asks Mega if they should let Ginrai know about what they are going to do and then says that they will start the next phase, which is "the dark base of the lighthouse!!".

But anyway, the many weapons of Overlord start to fire, from lasers to missiles and as they pummel the base, the Autobot's automated defenses are soon mostly taken out and more parts of the base begin to crumble. Inside the base all of the Autobots
are still okay but as they learn that they are defenceless they have another problem: a fire has broken out on the level where Clouder is being held prisoner. Hawk wants to seal off that level but Minerva refuses to let Clouder die and heads down there by herself.

She finds Clouder just in time to prevent him from being burnt alive, and uses the sprinklers to put the fire out. But she doesn't free him as more fires are starting all around the base, so she, Shūta and Cab run around trying to put those out. Meanwhile Hawk is still monitoring the Decepticon attack when he realises too late that the section they are shooting at now is where he himself is at, and he gets blown away.

Totally oblivious to what is happening at the base, Super Ginrai and God Bomber are still fighting against Hydra and Buster, who combine into their Darkwings mode but are soon beaten off and finally made to retreat. But as Ginrai watches them depart, he is contacted by Giga and Mega who tell him that his base is about to be blown to pieces!
Having been told this, Ginrai tells Road King and Ranger to help out any people who were injured in Hydra and Buster's attack whilst he and Road King head back to the base immediately. At the base, all the Headmaster Jrs can do is move Hawk to a small mobile bed whilst putting out some small fires caused by the earlier explosion as Giga and Mega meanwhile watch as Super Ginrai arrives so they can put their next plan into action.

As the Autobot leader gets outside the base he tells Lightfoot to go in and help the others, and as Overlord transforms to robot mode and starts to shoot missiles at him. As he avoids these Overlord warns that not only with the Autobot base be obliterated today, but so will he and he knocks him down and then tells the Seacons to start their mission.
A bunch of Seacons then appear and start to head straight towards the base, but Super Ginrai refuses to give up and after punching Overlord around a bit and knocking him down he demands to be told what the next phase of the Decepticon plan is. Overlord simply smiles and says that him losing to Ginrai now was all part of what was meant to happen.

What the Seacons are doing is getting inside the base by creating tunnels and ripping up the floors on the lower levels to enter. Lightfoot sees that they are being invaded and contacts Ginrai who realises that he has fallen for the Decepticon's earlier trap of luring him and the other Godmasters away from the base so they could destroy it more easily.
And as the Seacons make their way through the base Turtlar leads a Lobclaw to the main power generator and gets him to destroy it, and after a few slices it begins to blow up. This causes a power failure across the base meaning Clouder is freed since none of the Autobots had bothered to release him but before he can celebrate he is crushed under falling debris as the entire generator continues to explode.
Lightfoot tells Shūta to seal off any of the doors that still work to try and slow down the Seacons as Overlord feels the power of God Ginrai and falls before him. Lightfoot then contacts Ginrai and tells him that the main generator is going to explode within the next 10 minutes and they are stuck in the base as all of the known exits have been destroyed, so Ginrai tells him to take everyone up to the shelter on the highest level. As they move out, Minerva remembers about Clouder and finds him alive, and takes him up with the others.
With Overlord down for the moment, God Ginrai changes back to Super Ginrai and then uses the God cannon to take a shot at the base to try and draw out some of the magma energy from the exploding generator so the base isn't totally ruined whilst God Bomber is sent in to pick up the stranded Autobots at the top of the base.
They are saved just in time and taken to a safe distance as the resulting carnage results in many explosions rocking the mountain that the base is on and soon the entire thing collapses and is no more. The Autobots regroup and are all OK, with Hawk being the only one to be injured.

Alone on a hill, Clouder sees that because of him the Autobot base has been destroyed and that the side he thought was cool, the Decepticons, have just left him behind with no intentions of bringing him back. As Super Ginrai approaches him he says that he now wants to work for the Autobots and as Ginrai lets him he walks off into the sunset.
This is what Giga is talking about at the start of the episode, according to the Metrodome set subtitles. He could have just said "lets shoot at them!" and it would have worked just as well really.
