God Ginrai - Showdown on the Surface of the Moon

After a re-cap of what happened in the last episode, we see that God Ginrai has been beaten down as Black Zarak transforms. Overlord sees that their enemy is down for the moment, and turns his attention to their new comrade. Black Zarak doesn't seem to want to say much though and just confirms who he is and then says to leave God Ginrai to him.

But Overlord says that he'll destroy the Autobot as he doesn't want Black Zarak to be damaged in any way as it would make Devil Z extremely angry, so he charges and fights God Ginrai as Black Zarak just watches. After a few seconds of fighting God Ginrai gets that Black Zarak must have been the one who sent those asteroids down to Earth, but Overlord tells him to go and ask the emperor for confirmation. This makes him realise that Overlord is not actually the true leader of the Decepticons.

The Autobots are still desperately trying to contact their leader from their base in Japan but are getting no response. And because of that, Lander suggests that they just take a break and go and drink some wine, which everyone but the Headmaster Jrs think is a great idea. Lightfoot says that if Ginrai is in trouble, if he can just hold out for a little longer Grand Maximus should be able to help him as he is heading to the Moon.

Black Zarak then goes on the assault again and after pushing God Ginrai down into a crater, he transforms and attempts to tear his head off with his pincers. Ginrai throws him and the battle continues with the two Decepticons taking pot shots at the Autobot leader as he dives out of the way and tries to plan his own move. Meanwhile on Earth, Grand Maximus contacts the Autobots and tells them that he is almost at the moon now.

As Grand gets closer to his destination by the second, God Ginrai is still being chased after by the Decepticons, so he splits and changes back to Super Ginrai and lets God Bomber ride around on it's own. This is a good idea at first as it leads to Overlord being blown out of the way by Black Zarak is still at large and gets the Autobot to fall down another crater.

But before he can blow him to pieces, Grand Maximus finally arrives to save the day by forcing Black Zarak to move and then transforming himself, showing his large robot mode for the first time. He then charges straight into his enemy and the two of them fight it out as God Ginrai is left to pull himself out of the crater to see the Earth before him.

He then contacts the Autobots on Earth to let them know that he is OK, although he has been slightly damaged he is OK now that Grand Maximus has shown up, and he also tells them about Black Zarak. He then goes on to say that whilst the Earth is a beautiful planet, this moon is a lifeless rock and if the Decepticons reach the Earth, it will become like the moon so humans must defend their planet.

As he heads over to Grand, the two of them see that the Decepticons have decided to leave them and are heading to the Earth. Knowing that they can't let Black Zarak get there, Super Ginrai changes back to God Ginrai again and then he and Grand take flight to catch up to Overlord and Black Zarak, who are also going at top speed to the planet below.

Overlord gets caught in an explosion which sends him straight back to the Moon, and with him out of the way, Grand transforms and starts shooting at Black Zarak. God Ginrai then tries to help but with Black Zarak's laser going everywhere, he nearly takes a hit himself. Grand tells him to get on him and use his ship's biggest cannon, and the two of them charge straight towards the Decepticon.

After several close misses, God Ginrai switches from using a gun to using Chokon power, and sends a energy ball towards his opponent. Black Zarak is hit by it and tumbles out of space, ending up back on the Moon once again. As he is sent crashing into it's surface, Grand transforms back to his larger robot mode and he and God Ginrai land before their seemingly dead opponent.

He isn't dead though and after blasting the pair back, he finds Overlord and tells him to go back to the Earth immediately. Overlord doesn't want to do this as Devil Z had told him to escort Black Zarak to the Earth, but he eventually departs. Black Zarak then goes back to God Ginrai and has another go and tearing his head off, but he gets away and then uses the Chokon power to start a new attack - the god fire guts.

As he charges towards his foe, he collides straight unto him and sends him back down to the Moon with such power that when Black Zarak lands, his head falls off. His body still seems to be in one piece though and surprisingly, he can still talk and tells God Ginrai not to forget this event, as he suddenly takes off and heads back into space. Grand says that he must have given up trying to get to the Earth, and that Ginrai's heroism is exactly what he'd expect from an Autobot leader.

Ginrai thanks Grand for his help, as he heads back into space to chase after Black Zarak. He then heads back to the Earth as the narrator says that thanks to Grand Maximus' help the plans of Devil Z have been beaten for now, but the battle has only just begun and that it will continue as long as there are Decepticons on Earth. Fight, blazing warrior of justice, God Ginrai! (Those are his ACTUAL WORDS!)

Something's screwy with the start of this episode. At the end of the previous one, Black Zarak was already in robot mode, but at the start of this, he's in scorpion mode. And when he does transform, he gets one of those things where some Kanji appears stating his name, but these usually only show up when the character is being shown for the first time.

And what about those poor saps who worked at the Moon base? They aren't even mentioned in this episode!

Black Zarak isn't a Headmaster anymore, by the way, explaining why he continues to function despite the loss of his noggin.
